Respirator Fit Testing

Respirator training sessions will be scheduled upon request. The initial training lasts approximately one hour. This training is intended for new respirator users and for supervisors wanting to set up a respirator program for their area of responsibility.

This session is for workers not yet included in a respiratory protection program, who will or are likely to need to use respirators for one or more of their job functions. In the past, supervisors who are interested in setting up a respirator program for their workers have also benefited from this program, because it reviews all aspects of the requirements for workers using respirators.

Part II of the training covers cleaning and inspecting your respirator. In addition participants will be fit-tested if they been medically cleared by the Occupational Health physician at Columbia St. Mary's Corporate WoRx. Participants are asked to bring the respirator they have been issued.
