Disposal of Printer/Toner Cartridges
| Most spent, used or unneeded toner cartridges are not regulated as hazardous waste. Some toner comes in liquid form, which is likely to contain flammable solvents. The hazardous waste program would handle the disposal of the liquid toner cartridges.
Our department and many other departments on campus send spent copier and laser printer cartridges back to the manufacturer or supplier to be recycled.
If you need to download postage-paid shipping labels for printer cartridges, please visit Hewlett-Packard’s web-site that has a direct link to the shipping labels. If you have further questions, please contact the Environmental Affairs Department at x4999 or x2883. Thank you! |
