Electronic Waste Program
NOTE: This program is for university-owned computers only |
Surplus computers and computer-related devices can be picked up and processed for UW-Milwaukee departments through a contract with Cascade Asset Management. This enables equipment to be handled in an environmentally responsible manner and ensures information is securely removed from electronic media.
Contact staff in Environmental Affairs at x4999 or x2883 for location of collections sites or to schedule an electronic waste pickup.

on the collection bins indicate items acceptable for disposal. Acceptable idems for disposal at the UWM collection sites include:

Recycling Tips:
- Please do not scrap items containing any type of fluid. If you do not have the capability to remove the fluid, please contact Environmental Affairs staff at x4999 or x2883 for assistance.
- Please DO NOT scrap ANY items that contain sharp objects (syringes, razor blades, etc.) These represent hazards to the people moving the equipment who are not aware of them.
- If you have large amounts of electronic waste to be disposed of, please contact Environmental Affairs staff at x4999 or x2883 for an evaluation of the situation. Special handling my be required.
