Biosafety Training Matrix


Successful completion of a range of biosafety training programs may be required prior to the initiation of your work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Please review the following table for information on required training.

Before Initiating Work Involving:

You Must Satisfactorily Complete
the Following Training:

Human blood, other potentially infectious materials, (including human cell lines) and bloodborne pathogens. Bloodborne Pathogen Training

Required before initiation of work and at least annually thereafter.

Human or animal pathogens classified at BL2 Biosafety Training
Site-Specific Training
Packaging, Shipping, Transporting, or Receiving Biohazards (Infectious agents, hazardous biological toxins, and human clinical specimens) Shipping and Transport Training
Work with a Class II Biological Safety Cabinet Safe Use of Biological Safety Cabinets
Recombinant DNA Recombinant DNA Training
Biohazardous Waste Waste Practices portion of Biosafety Training
