Veterinary Care
The veterinarian has the responsibility of providing medical care to all animals maintained in our institution. In addition to these responsibilities, the veterinarian provides guidance to investigators and research personnel regarding proper handling, restraint, anesthesia, analgesia, tranquilization and euthanasia procedures. The veterinarian also provides direction concerning pre- and post-procedural care of animals used in surgical and other studies.
