ARC Services Effective June 10, 2008

Per Diem Rates Include:

  • Normal husbandry for conventional, barrier or quarantine housed animals
  • ARC oversight of animals daily, weekends, holidays
  • Maintenance food/bedding for animals
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Carcass removal
  • CO2 tanks
  • Enrichment items

Per Diem Rates do not Include (PI responsibility):

  • Costs for special diets
  • Provision of PPE clothing other than for Barrier or quarantine housed animals
  • Caging, shelving or other equipment*
  • Cost of animals
  • Isoflurane
  • Oxygen tanks

The ARC Will Supply:

Services included under per diem rates:

  • Maintenance of shared equipment
  • Cage replacement cost (if funding is available)
  • Cost of non-consumable supplies excluding caging, shelving and other large pieces of equipment (if funding is available)

Special Services available for Additional Charges:

  • Tech Time (breeding colonies, special cleaning, etc.)**
  • Use of Transport Vehicle-pay for mileage
  • Serology testing (reimbursement for equipment needed, shipping costs, charges from RADIL lab and tech time involved)
  • Required maintenance of anesthetic machines purchased by investigators provided by outside contractor
