Campus launches S.A.F.E. campaign
Safety is everybody’s business, all the time, but sometimes it helps to shine a spotlight on it. That’s why UWM is kicking off a yearlong, effort to increase campuswide safety awareness. 

The Department of University Safety and Assurances at UWM seeks to promote a positive, campus-wide attitude of safety excellence which responds sensitively to our obligation to the communities we serve and at the same time promote and support the important teaching, research and learning mission of our faculty, staff and students.

To facilitate the delivery of essential environmental health, safety, human subjects protection, animal care and risk management services to the University and its faculty, students, staff and visitors in a manner consistent with the University's best interests and the Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs' core values.

To be the very best Safety and Assurance department among the finest institutions in order to increase our value to UWM, the greater Milwaukee region, UW System, and the State of Wisconsin.

The administrative offices of the Department of University Safety and Assurances are located in Engelmann Hall, Room 270. These offices include the Director's and Associate Director's offices, the Risk Management office, the Institutional Review Board office, the Safety Education office and the Laboratory Safety office.

The Animal Care office, the Radiation and Biological Safety office, and the Environmental Affairs (including Hazardous Waste) office are located in Lapham Hall.
