SOCIAL ACTION THEATRE

The Social Action Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, modeled after UW Oshkosh's Social Action Theatre, was initiated in Spring 1994. It is an interactive theatre group that performs scenarios related to diversity issues.

UWM's Social Action Theatre is an important and effective component of the Office for Multicultural Affairs' cultural diversity training workshops. On an average, the Social Action Theatre group performs two to three scenarios, each lasting about five minutes, per training workshop. After each scenario, the actors remain in character while interacting with and answering questions from the audience.
