Research Interests:
My research focuses on health communication, social support, and coping with illness, particularly in the case of people with rare or stigmatized illnesses. I also have studied the impacts of technology on the support process, particularly in groups. My most recent projects have focused on the support experiences of women living with HIV. I am currently working on a project that examines the family experience of HIV when the mother is living with HIV or AIDS.
