NWSA Conference
Women in the Middle: Borders, Barriers, Intersections
Information for Exhibitors and Vendors
|
Introduction to the Conference
Founded in 1977, NWSA has become the major national organization in the interdisciplinary field of women's studies. The national conference regularly attracts college professors and administrators of women's studies programs and women's centers, as well as elementary and secondary teachers, community activists, researchers, librarians and students. The conference provides an ideal opportunity for publishers of women's studies and interdisciplinary materials to meet their intended audience, display current products, highlight new titles, and host book signings, readings or receptions for their women's studies authors.

Exhibit Guidelines
Exhibitors should plan to send a representative to assume responsibility for the books and other items on display, i.e., setting up the display, staffing during the exhibit hours, dismantling, packing and preparing for return shipping at the close of the exhibit, or hire a student worker to do so.
Those who wish to hire student workers, please indicate so on your reservation form and we will send you a student employment contract. Student workers will be paid $10.00 per hour. All exhibit materials must be packed/prepared for outbound shipping or removed from the ballroom by 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Those exhibitors renting tables for display only should NOT send books or other materials that need to be returned. At the end of the exhibit, all remaining items will be donated to students, libraries or Women's Studies programs.
The NWSA 2004 Exhibit will include craft people and vendors as well as publishers.

Exhibit Booth Fee Schedule:
NWSA envisions a world in which all persons can develop to their fullest potential and be free from the ideologies and structures that consciously or unconsciously oppress and exploit. We're not there yet, however, and so we have adopted a two-tier fee system for exhibitors that reflects the wide range of feminist organizations and businesses.
- Tier A: For businesses or organizations whose annual revenue is less than $100,000.
- Tier B: For businesses or organizations whose annual revenue exceeds $100,000.

Exhibitors are encouraged to schedule book signings and author receptions in the exhibit hall. Contact the exhibit chairperson for assistance with arrangements and publicity for such events. As soon as program participants are confirmed, we will notify exhibitors of authors who will be presenting at the conference.

Publicizing Exhibit Hours
Exhibit hours will be publicized throughout the printed program book and around the conference site for maximum exposure.
We are also very pleased with the prime locale of the exhibit this year; it is the first thing seen upon entering the conference. The breakout rooms are all located on the same level as the Regency Ballroom where the exhibit hall will be located, lending to the high visibility of the exhibits this year.
