Programs-Summer 2008 Summer in Lublin, Poland July 7 - August 11, 2008 Application deadline: March 14, 2008 with $250 deposit Overview:
Lublin is one of the oldest towns in Poland, dating back to the 10th century. Today it is a vibrant university town that maintains its old world charm. Students may attend from 2 to 5 weeks and earn between 2 and 5 credits of Polish language taught at all skill levels in the School of Polish Language and Culture at the Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski (KUL-Catholic University of Lublin). They may earn additional credit by choosing intensive or highly intensive language courses or earn 6 credits in 3 weeks by taking Polish culture (3 credits) and Polish language (3 credits) courses. Excursions to Warsaw and Kazimierz, films, cultural performances, and lectures given by the faculty at the KUL, where Pope John Paul II was a professor, complement this program.
Credits: Up to 5 undergraduate or 3 graduate credits in Polish (297/497)
Participation: This program is open to all college/university students. Estimated Cost*: $2,720 *Cost includes full academic program, accommodation, all meals, Lublin transport pass, excursions & cultural programming. *** Cost does not include airfare or optional trips to Kraków and Bialowieza National Park. *Program fees are based on a realistic estimate of participants. The cost may change if the exchange rate fluctuates or the minimum number of participants is not achieved. **There are fee differentials for graduate students and non-Wisconsin residents. ***Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Grants can be used for this program.
