Programs-Summer 2007 Summer in South Africa: Durban International Information Literacy August 5 -August 25, 2007 Application deadline: March 15, 2007 with $250 deposit *Please note: The dates listed above are program start dates in-country. Please allow for appropriate travel time. Overview: This brand new, exciting program provides a hands-on learning experience on International Librarianship from the perspective of South African professionals. Students will learn about the roles of culture and technology in the access to and interpretation of information in South Africa. Toward the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to participate in a conference of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions in Durban, South Africa. Students may earn three undergraduate or graduate credits in Information Studies for this program. Credits: 3 credits in Information Studies (Undergraduate or Graduate) Participation: Open to all US college/university students. Preference given to UWM students. Estimated Cost*: $4,100 *Program fees are based on a realistic estimate of participants. The cost may change if the exchange rate fluctuates or the minimum number of participants is not achieved. **There are fee differentials for graduate students and non-Wisconsin residents. ***Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Grants can be used for this program.
