Programs-Summer 2007 Summer in Madrid, Spain May 31 -June 29, 2007 Application deadline: March 15, 2007 with $250 deposit *Please note: The dates listed above are program start dates in-country. Please allow for appropriate travel time.
Overview: Madrid, Spain’s capital, is the site for this UWM program, in which students may earn a total of 7 credits (4 in Spanish Language at all proficiency levels, and 3 credits in Spanish Culture and Civilization, taught in either English or Spanish). The Culture and Civilization course examines both the history of Spain and its current social, political and cultural reality. Students will learn about contemporary Spanish society in its many factors: demographics, legal and political systems, popular culture, art and literature, etc. Students will be housed in shared apartments in Madrid or may choose a home stay with a Spanish family.
Credits: 4 undergraduate credits in Spanish Language at all proficiency levels, and 3 credits in Spanish Culture and Civilization, taught in either English or Spanish Participation: This program is open to all college/university students. Estimated Cost*: $4,200 *Program fees are based on a realistic estimate of participants. The cost may change if the exchange rate fluctuates or the minimum number of participants is not achieved. **There are fee differentials for graduate students and non-Wisconsin residents. ***Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Grants can be used for this program.
