Keimyung University is located in Daegu, the third largest city in South Korea with a population of 2.5 million. Daegu is at the center of the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula and it sits on an open basin surrounded on all sides by high mountains among which are two famous peaks, known as Mt. Palgong and Mt. Biseul. A sense of dedication to excellence, whether in scholarship or service, has been the motivating force behind the founders and other dedicated people at Keimyung University. Established in 1954 Keimyung University proudly continues to cultivate the minds of future international leaders and experts who can contribute to the world peace and welfare of today’s society. Currently, Keimyung has over 27,000 students and over 2,400 faculty members in 25 majors, 68 departments in 11 faculties and 20 colleges, 13 graduate schools, 34 attached and affiliated institutes including Dongsan Medical Center and 17 affiliated research centers. Keimying offers an academic atmosphere which fosters genuine learning and nourishment of intellectual pursuits. It offers unique courses to help international students capture the flavor of Korean culture, history, and society and gain practical knowledge of the Korean language, economy, and business. Dates

  

Students may attend Keimyung for fall semester, spring semester, or academic year. Fall semester runs late August through mid December, spring semester runs early March through June and an academic year runs late August through June. 

  

Eligibility

This is an undergraduate or graduate exchange program. Applicants must be enrolled as degree seeking students at the university of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Four semesters of college-level Korean or equivalent is required to apply for this program. Preference will be given to applicants with a 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale). Applicants may be called in for a personal interview.

  

Courses

Cost

UWM students pay UWM tuition, $450 administrative fee and $37/month for health insurance.
