  • Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies
    (CLACS) is supported by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Resource Center for Latin American Language and Area Studies. As such, the Center receives federal as well as University funding to support teaching, research and outreach programs relating to Latin America and the Caribbean.
     

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) offers two specialized programs for students whose first language is not English.

     

  • Foreign Languages & Linguistics  is one of three foreign language departments at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. It offers major programs in Classics, German, Hebrew Studies, Linguistics, and Slavic Languages.
     

  • Department of French, Italian & Comparative Literature

     

  • Institute for Global Studies (IGS) is a collaborative initiative involving all University of Wisconsin Institutions and other state, national and international partners.  The Institute seeks to respond to the international education needs of Wisconsin students, businesses and other organizations, government and the citizens of Wisconsin.

     

  • Institute of World Affairs (IWA)  was established in 1960 "to stimulate the interest and broaden the knowledge...of the community in the field of world affairs." By providing a full range of public affairs programs about U.S. foreign policy, international relations, and global economics, the Institute carries out a unique public service function for Milwaukee and Wisconsin as the "international" outreach unit of the Division of Outreach and Continuing Education.

     

  • International Business Center of the School of Business Administration was established in 1985 through funding by the Wisconsin State Legislature and private sources to meet the needs of the business, academic, and government communities.
