PEACE EDUCATION COMMISSION

The Peace Education Commission (PEC) of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA) facilitates international exchanges about peace education and research related to peace education.

Twice a year PEC produces a newsletter, Peacebuilding, that is available here in cyberspace and is mailed to PEC members. We welcome articles from you about peace education developments in your part of the world--book reviews, descriptions of peace education curricula, reports on conferences, announcements of meetings, and abstracts of articles.

Click on latest newsletter to see the most recent edition in adobe acrobat format with columns and pictures. If you do not have adobe acrobat, the text of the newsletter can be found by linking with Peacebuilding. Back issues came be found at our index page.

PEC meetings occur at the biannual IPRA meetings. Check the IPRA homepage for details about the latest conference.

PEC is the largest and oldest commission within the International Peace Research Association.  PEC is run by a Council.  Click PEC council to contact the council member closest to you.

PEC maintains a listserv that allows peace educators at various levels (pre-school, primary school, secondary school, higher education) as well as in on-formal community education to communicate ideas.

With members all over the world, PEC sponsors the Peace Education Journal. PEC members receive a subscription to this journal. If you would like to become a member of the Peace Education Commission, visit www.tandf.co.uk/journals/offer/pec.asp.
