We are pleased here to offer information on the following areas of particular concern to international students and scholars:

 

Housing is generally available in the immediate vicinity of the UWM campus.  The UWM Off Campus Housing Information Service is a vital resource for those seeking "off campus housing."  The service maintains continuously updated lists of houses, flats and apartments available for rent, primarily within a three mile radius of the campus.  The service also maintains lists of individuals who are looking for roommates to help reduce living expenses.

Weather
Milwaukee has four different seasons and temperature ranges. Be prepared with warm clothes for the three coldest months (December through February), when the temperatures range from below zero Fahrenheit (-18 Celsius) to approximately 25 degrees (-4). In the warmest months (June through August) the temperatures range from 70 (21) to 100 (37) degrees.

The University's academic calendar is divided into three periods: the spring term, the the fall term, and the summer sessions. These three periods typically begin as follows:  the spring term, on the second week in January; the summer sessions, on the third week in May, and the fall term, on the first week in September. There is a one-week spring break in March or April.
