Global Security Track

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies through the Global Security track examines the changing conceptions and conditions that shape global security, including:

  • the causes and effects of migration, immigration, peace and conflict
  • the international system
  • the environment
  • health and health care
  • ethnicity, culture and national identity
  • policymaking and government, international law, and human rights

Students in this track may choose to focus their studies on Global Conflict Management or Environmental Sustainability through the wide range of elective courses offered.

The Global Security track will prepare students for careers relevant to various aspects of global conflict management and/or sustainability, such as those in government agencies and diplomacy, non-profit organizations, international organizations, and the public policy community.

Global Security track core courses include:

  • Global Security I - Rethinking Global Security
  • Global Security II - Strategies for Realizing Security
  • Global Security III - Justice, Power and the Future of Global Insecurity
