As our society becomes ever more interconnected with other parts of the world—and more aware of th e impact of global trends and processes which have long influenced our lives—Global Studies at UW-Milwaukee (UWM) offers students the academic preparation to confront future challenges and to take full advantage of emerging opportunities.

Representing the first degree program of its kind in the nation, Global Studies at UW-Milwaukee is an innovative interdisciplinary program based on a philosophy of experiential learning. UWM’s interdisciplinary approach combines studying abroad, mastering a foreign language, and pre-professional coursework preparing students for life and work in the 21st century.

A partnership between the College of Letters and Science and several of the professional schools at UW-Milwaukee, the Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies combines the strengths of a liberal arts foundation and the practica l benefits of pre-professional training. The Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies integrates coursework from across the traditional disciplinary divisions of the university and allows students to focus their studies in one of the following five tracks:

Offering an international edge to UW-Milwaukee students and graduates, the Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies comprises a rigorous program that can accommodate a wide range of individual interests and needs.
