Introductory Course Work

The following "introductory" courses are required and should be taken in the first two years:

Economics (6 crs):

  • Econ 103: Principles of Microeconomics
  • Econ 104: Principles of Macroeconmics

Geography (3 crs):

  • Geog 110: The World: Peoples & Regions

History (3 crs)-one of the following courses:

  • Hist 176: East Asian Civilization
  • Hist 180: Latin American Society and Culture
  • Hist 206: Europe and the Modern World
  • Hist 242: Women and Gender in Europe
  • Hist 282: The Modern Middle East in the 19th & 20th Centuries

Political Science (3 crs)-one of the following courses:

  • Pol Sci 106: Politics of the World's Nations
  • Pol Sci 175: Introduction to International Relations

Foreign Language (14 crs):

  • Fourteen credits (about four semesters) in a single foreign language
