International Studies Minor |
The Minor in International Studies is open to all undergraduate students, but should be of particular interest to majors in any of the Foreign Languages, Business Administra
tion, Economics or Political Science.
Students may declare the minor after completing at least 45 credits, but prior to completing 75 credits.

I. Required Core Courses
These courses do not count toward the 18 required credits for the minor, but must be completed prior to graduation.
- Foreign Language (not included in G.P.A. for the minor)
The equivalent of 14 college credits in a single foreign language.
- Analytical Tools (included in G.P.A. for the minor)
Political Science 203 - "Introduction to Political Science Research" - 3 credits
II. Requirements for the Minor (18 total credits)
- One of the following two 3-credit courses
- Political Science 316 - "Principles of International Law"
- Political Science 370 - "International Conflict"
- Two 3-credit courses distributed as follows:
- One of the following two courses
- Political Science 359 - "Problems of American Foreign Policy"
- History 434 - "The United States as a World Power"
- One of the following three courses
- Economics 353 - "Economic Development"
- Geography 400 - "Population Geography"
- Anthropology 404 - "Heredity, Environment, and Human Population"
- 3-credit Senior Seminar - International Studies 550 - "Senior Seminar in International Studies"
- 6 credit-hours (typically two additional 3-credit courses) from the International Studies list of approved electives. (3-page document in .pdf format)
