International Careers UWM's Career Development Center (CDC) offers counseling to help you identify a career that matches your interests, values and skills. In addition, the CDC provides assistance with career research, resume development and interviewing preparation. Business students (including Global Studies majors in the Global Management track) may also wish to visit the Career Services Center at the Sheldon A. Lubar School of Business. All students who are interested in an international career should consider taking International Studies 260: Introduction to InternationalCareers, a 2-credit course offered each spring (if you are a Global Studies student, you may register for the 1-credit Think Tank on International Careers). This course allows students to investigate a wide variety of international career options by bringing in guest speakers from international business, government (e.g. State Department), global health, teaching English as a second language (ESL), international law and mediation/peacebuilding, etc. CIE welcomes professionals who would like to inform students about their careers in an international field. If you have a contact for a speaker that you would like to pass along, please email Tracy Buss (tbuss@uwm.edu). CIE also houses an International Careers Library in Garland 110 that is open for students to browse and photocopy materials. Click here for a list of the titles in the library. In addition to the books on this list, we keep files of brochures, etc. organized by professional field. SIGN UP TO RECEIVE MORE INFORMATION ON INTERNATIONAL CAREERS! To be on CIE's mailing list and receive updates on job opportunities, careers-related speakers, etc., please email Tracy Buss (tbuss@>uwm.edu). Once you sign up for this list, you can remove yourself anytime. Career-Related Links We have compiled a list of links that you may find useful in your career research.
