Seminars/Workshops
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Center for By-Products Utilization has been conducting educational programs, including workshops, symposiums and professional seminars since 1990. These programs deal mostly with the recycling of post-consumer wastes and utilization of various industrial by-products in concrete and concrete materials, including fly ash and other coal combustion by-products, used foundry sand and slag, used tires, plastics, glass, paper mill sludge, etc. Utilization of these materials, rather than disposing them in a landfill, becomes increasingly with the production and potential utilization of these by-products, including people from electric utilities, foundries, engineers, architects, technicians and specification writers in private practice, industry or government service, material suppliers, contractor, as well as owners of facilities using these by-products.
CBU workshops and symposiums have been well attended and very
successful. While many of them were held in Milwaukee, WI, some have
been conducted in Green Bay, WI, Port Washington, WI, Madison, WI, La
Crosse, WI, Minneapolis, MN, Peoria, IL, etc. You may obtain detailed
