A one-day workshop is planned in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on Friday, September 17, 1999. The purpose of the workshop is to bring attendees up-to-date with the latest information on roller compacted concrete (RCC) pavement construction. The program will include presentations showing important technical and economic advantages of RCC pavement construction applications, including the use of coal ash (wood ash, used foundry sand, lime stone quarry dust/fines, etc.) for additional fines.
The workshop should be of interest to those associated with the construction industry, including design and materials engineers, engineers working in governmental agencies, industry and private practice, engineering technicians, engineering faculty and students, as well as ready mixed concrete producers, concrete products manufacturers, and concrete contractors. The workshop will also provide significant help to people from coal/wood-burning plants, utilities, and other industries.
The program will present state-of-the art information; and will cover basic information, applications, case histories, as well as the latest developments in durable roller compacted concrete pavementconstruction by knowledgeable professionals engaged in specifying, approving, marketing, and using these materials. Handout materials will be provided. The workshop plan includes a site visit for demonstration of roller compacted concrete pavement construction in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
