Barry Wind has published extensively on 17th and 18th century art. His books include a study of Velazquez's bodegones, a discourse on 17th century genre painting, and most recently a monograph on the image of freaks in the 17th century. Articles on Carracci, Poussin, and Hogarth have appeared in such periodicals as the Art Bulletin, the Warburg Journal, and the Gazette des Beaux Arts. His interests, primarily iconographic, include representations of the underclass, portraiture, and political imagery.
