"Crucifixion: Death of Christ" departs from the elements of traditional stained glass. It is made almost entirely out of clear glass, yet gradations in the texture of the glass distinguish the design from its background. Three tiny pieces of red glass were inserted at the hands and feet to signify blood. The circular frame that surrounds the glass is made of sandblasted cedar and is intended to reference the gopher wood, of which, many believe the actual crucifix was made. In most stained glass designs, the glazing is a technical device, holding into place the glass that makes up the image. However, in the "Crucifixion", the glazing is actually used as the medium for the 'drawing' of the image
