Latino Nonprofit Leadership Program (LNLP)
UWM's Roberto Hernández Center (RHC), in partnership with the Cardinal Stritch University Leadership Center, is currently recruiting for the fourth class of the Latino Nonprofit Leadership Program (LNLP), a reflective, practical leadership development course designed especially for bilingual (English/Spanish) Latinos and non-Latinos involved with Latino-serving nonprofit organizations in southeastern Wisconsin, either as employees or as volunteers.

"Lideres a nuevo nivel," Fronteras de la Noticia, 12/06/06
Since 2005, the LNLP has offered more than 50 committed and passionate individuals the opportunity to develop their leadership capacities, sharpen their management skills, create collaborative networks and engage in advocacy on issues important to Latinos. As such, the LNLP has become a vehicle for social change, empowering those who serve southeastern Wisconsin's Latino-serving nonprofits, increasing the leadership capital in our Latino communities and beyond, and ultimately, enhancing the quality of life for the community at large.
The 10-month program includes two overnight retreats (February and June) and 27 class sessions on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. Class sessions feature guest speakers from the community who share their insights on various topics related to leadership, management, advocacy and other relevant subjects. In addition, participants are matched with a community mentor and challenged to complete a community project that benefits a Latino nonprofit.
Applications for the LNLP Class of 2008 are being accepted until Wednesday, January 9, 2007. Upon receipt of your completed application, we will call you to schedule an interview. Interviews last approximately one hour. All interviews will take place from January 7-18, 2008 at UWM.
The program begins in February with a kickoff retreat and runs through November 2008. The cost for each participant is $375. Payment plans, employer direct billing, and a limited number of scholarships are available.
