American Indian Studies (AIS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is an interdisciplinary academic program based in the College of Letters and Science. The program works cooperatively with university departments to offer courses designed to teach all interested students about the unique American Indian heritage. The program's faculty and staff members are also involved in ongoing research and publication in the discipline of American Indian Studies and related academic disciplines. Interdisciplinary MajorStudents who have completed at least forty-five credits are eligible to declare and enroll in an interdisciplinary major program in American Indian Studies. Students who wish to have more information about this academic option should consult the American Indian Studies office.
