development The Center for 21st Century Studies provides UWM faculty a central venue for the pursuit of externally funded, collaborative interdisciplinary research projects involving the humanities. Our emphasis is on working with faculty who are seeking external funding for collaborative projects that can be housed at the Center, although we can also assist individual humanities faculty members who are seeking external funding for their research. We also welcome inquiries from faculty in the sciences, engineering, and professional schools who are interested in partnering with humanities faculty on collaborative projects. Providing these grant-seeking services is a natural extension of the Center’s mission, which since 1968 has been to promote research and encourage dialogue across disciplinary boundaries in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. By working with faculty in search of external funding for interdisciplinary projects, the Center looks to continue its many intellectual conversations through generating a variety of self-sustaining activities.
