Industry Expo

Industry Expo is held during Fall and Spring semesters by CEAS Career Services. Companies attend the event to recruit students for internship, co-op and full-time job opportunties. Industry Expo is a great way for students to learn about different companies and the type of work that they do. Expo is also a great way for recruiters to advertise their companies.

All CEAS students should attend Industry Expo. Even if you currently have a job, you should attend. Industry Expo is a great way to network. By handing out your resume to a few employers and collecting a couple of business cards at Industry Expo, you will be helping yourself in the future. Meeting with company representatives and handing out resumes is a great way to advertise yourself and learn more about a potential future employer. Even if you are not currently looking for job, employers may hold on to your resume and contact you in the future.

Because you have introduced yourself to representatives at Industry Expo, it will make it easier for you to contact them later in your job search. If you are cold-calling companies, it is easier for you to be able to say "We met at UWM's Industry Expo in February of 2007. You mentioned…" or "I was very interested in…" By creating these contacts now, you will be opening doors of opportunity for yourself in the future.
