Comparing self-noise of MBHO KA100D/603 mics (A-B omni, 13" spread); Sennheiser MKH40/30 mics (M-S) and Rode NT1-A mics (ORTF wide cardiod, 13" spread). In the first part of the test, the mics are conneted to either a Sound Devices "MP-2" or Sound Devices "MixPre" external mic preamp which is connected to the line input of a Sony NH900 HiMD recorder.

In the last test segment (after the pause). the Rode NT1-A's connected directly to a SD744T recorder comparing 60dB and 70dB gain settings.
