Virtual Learning  (WUWM Interview, February 19, 2007)

Virtual high schools are popping up left and right in Wisconsin and the U-S. The programs allow students to earn a four year high school diploma without ever stepping foot in a school. Right now Wisconsin is in the midst of its open enrollment period. That's when students can enroll in schools that aren't in their district including online programs. For kids who have trouble functioning in a traditional school online learning provides another option. WUWM's LaToya Dennis has more.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Information & Media Technology Division (2006). Facilitator/Consultant with training staff.

December 2006. I&MT was the focus of a campus-wide review, which identified a need for enhancement of training and development efforts. The Division had no overall, coordinated strategy for staff training and development to foster growth at the various career stages of its employees. Discussions with I&MT staff indicated that this was a significant morale issue. It was also determined that inadequate training in current and emerging technologies and application development tools inhibited I&MT’s ability to effectively (re)deploy resources to meet changing needs and expectations. In response to the review findings, I&MT Professional Development collaborated with me to establish a process to address short-term technical training needs, as well as long-term professional development and career planning for IT professionals in the Division.
